Vintage 14k Gold Mosaic Opal Doublet Heart Pendant: October Birthstone

This Vintage 14k Gold Opal Heart Pendant is beautiful and elegant! Several pieces of genuine opal doublet are cleverly set together forming a mosaic heart shape within a 14k gold setting with a twisted filigree style edge. A doublet is a slice of genuine opal that has been fused to a background material allowing the wearer to have the look of a much more expensive stone. The pendant is marked 14k on the back and tests for 14k gold (not plated or filled). The pendant measures approximately 1" x 1 1/4" including the bale. The opals have great luminosity with shades of pink, blue and green in them. The back of the pendant has a black material backing. Opal is the October birthstone. Opals are said to symbolize love, passion, loyalty and faithfulness. This pendant would work equally well for dressy or casual wear. It has wonderful color and chic style!
