This Vintage 14k Gold Thimble is gorgeous! The thimble has fancy designs at the lower portion and above that a dimpled section and it is marked 8 (the thimble size) and engraved "E D K". The thimble is in good vintage condition with no dents or holes but has light scratches as would be expected for a vintage item. The inside is marked S within a Shield, the mark for Simons Bros. It is also marked 14k and tests for solid 14k gold.
American thimble factories came into being in the 1830's. George Washington Simons started his business in Philadelphia, PA in 1839. They were a major producer of sterling and gold thimbles as well as making other items. The company is still in business today.

Ring Sizing
If you would like to have a ring sized, please contact us PRIOR to making your purchase with the size needed by using the form on the Contact page. Please include a description of the ring you are inquiring about. If you are unsure of your ring size, we suggest you have your finger measured at a jewelry store or jeweler near you. Any reputable store or jeweler should be able to do this for you for no charge. We'll let you know if it's possible to make the ring the size requested, the sizing fee, time estimate for sizing (typically about two weeks) and if you want to proceed, we will adjust the listing for you to include the sizing prior to purchase.
