This Vintage Opal Ring is fantastic! The large genuine opal has flashes of yellow, green and pink. The opal is a pear shaped cabochon measuring approximately 8 mm x 12 mm. It is set in a heavy 14k yellow gold mounting with great details including small gold balls halfway down the sides of the band and an open and airy top. The top of the ring measures approximately 20.5 mm x 24 mm. The ring sits high on the finger with a rise of approximately 13 mm. The well made yellow gold setting is marked 14k ATL. This ring is in fine vintage condition and is ready to be worn and enjoyed. Opals have rich meaning in history. Opals have been said to foster love, passion, loyalty, faithfulness, emotional expressiveness, warmth and spontaneity. In Roman times opals were, after emeralds, the most valued gem. Opal is the birthstone for October. This fabulous statement ring can be worn for both casual and dressy occasions. It's a beauty!
