Vintage 18k Gold Diamond Buckle Ring with Red Enamel Hallmarked London England Buckle Wedding Band Wedding Ring Size 5.5

This Vintage 18k Gold Buckle Ring is beautiful! This very fine quality ring features red enamel and seventeen single cut diamonds measuring approximately .005 carats each. The bottom of the ring is yellow gold while the section holding the diamonds is in white gold. The band measures approximately 11 mm wide at the widest point. The ring is hallmarked inside with a crown, 750, leopard head and lower case letter c. There is also a maker's mark of S&B. The hallmark indicates that the ring is 18k and was assayed in London, England in 1977. This is a very special ring! It could be worn as a wedding band or a right hand ring. It is in good vintage condition and is ready to be worn and enjoyed. The enamel is intact. It's a great find and a wonderful piece to add to any collection!

The giving of a buckle ring started in the Victorian times and was symbolic of a close relationship between giver and wearer. The buckle was a symbol of binding love. In later times the buckle ring also came to symbolize strength, loyalty and protection. The buckle ring was often used for wedding rings.
