This Vintage 10k Gold Irish Wedding Ring has character! This ring has a classic Celtic warrior shield design with the center of the ring in white gold and the edges and interior in yellow gold. It is hallmarked CHJ, the mark of hibernia 10 417. 10 and 417 signify that this ring is 10k gold. The band measures approximately 6.4 mm and rise 1.5 mm (at the edge). This detail on this ring is lovely. It's in good vintage condition and is ready to be worn and enjoyed.
A little about the warrior shield: The Ardagh Chalice is from the early Christian Period and was made in the late 8th to early 9th Century. In 1868 the Chalice was found in Ardagh county, Limerick by two men who were digging for potatoes. The Chalice is a beautiful piece of workmanship and the largest Celtic symbol found on the Ardagh Chalice is a circular warrior shield symbol. The bold design mirrors the shape of ancient Irish battle shields and is a symbol of strength, loyalty, and bravery.
